First and foremost, Marietta is a student of the human body and all of its intricacies. A true nerd at heart, Marietta delights in learning how the body moves and applying that knowledge to her yoga practice and teaching. Unrolling her yoga mat has allowed Marietta to find balance in a life that can often seem extreme. Teaching allows Marietta to share her passion for the body and for the powerful spiritual and emotional benefits of the practice.
Marietta began practicing in 1999 and completed her first yoga teacher training in 2007 in Nosara, Costa Rica with Don and Amba Stapleton. She continued her studies by training extensively in Anusara Yoga with Jonas Westring and John Friend and received Anusara Inspired status in 2012. Marietta then received her 300 Hour Advanced Training with Sadie Nardini in Core Strength Vinyasa and became a Master Trainer in that style, teaching alongside Sadie in her teacher training programs. Additionally, Marietta has completed training in Thai Yoga Bodywork both in the US and Thailand and completed training with the Lineage Project to teach at risk and incarcerated youth.
Marietta is also the mom to a spunky little girl who loves skeletons just as much as she does.

She immediately committed to taking on the work of becoming a Baptiste Certified Teacher. The Baptiste 40 day challenge is where I manifested the desire to share yoga with the world. Since then, I committed 100% to my practice and never stepped off the mat, away from my journal or my meditation seat. Yoga has created a life that I feel blessed to live everyday. It is not just something I do, it is part of who I am. I want my students to leave my class feeling present, grounded, calm and inspired to take on the world moment by moment, breath by breath.
I practice yoga to quiet the anxious mind, to remain present in the moments when life throws curveballs at me but also when things are calm. My yoga practice has given me access to awareness, compassion, community and growth. It has eased my anxiety helping me to trust my intuition and allowed me to utilize the tools of the practice to change the way I show up for friends, family, students and myself.
I am thrilled to share what I have learned on my journey so far as a leader in the Be Community.
